										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Boarding at 11.35 pm in Singapore on a westward bound flight makes for a journey conducted in unrelieved darkness. The coldness of the cabin, the meanness of the blankets supplied by Qantas, and the dryness of the air matched the gloom of the night. I slept in snatches, always waking because it was cold, and no requests for another blanket were fruitful!<br />
Qantas makes its convict heritage apparent, the passengers in cattle class have these dull grey, thin as cardboard blankets that can cover any one third of your body, while the crew, if you catch them sitting around in the kitchens in the night, have these thick, fluffy, lined red blankets.</p>
