Here's a fun and easy way to create a video with your words in just 60 seconds. That quickly? You're right, we're using more AI tools. My previous experiments with AI tools covered interesting topics like tools to help you write and plan better. But I’ve discovered there’s a lot more you can do.
For starters, you can turn the text in your book into an Audiobook. I’ve covered this in a previous blog post and you can read all about how to convert your text into an audiobook here.

That said this post is going to look at how you can turn your words into a video. I will cover step by step all the things you need to do to create a video with your words in just 60 seconds.

Step 1 To Create a Video With Your Words – Generate a script

Firstly, you can use text that you already have written. It could be a piece you’ve already worked on or you can generate your own text using ChatGPT or Canvas AI content creator.

You could begin by putting prompts into ChatGPT or Canva unless you already have a topic in mind. For instance, you can start by naming the genre and what your central characters will be if it’s a fiction piece. Or if it’s non-fiction ask the AI to generate topic ideas around your selected idea.

You can build on this query to create an outline or draft and then build on it by asking the AI to generate more prompts.

For more about how to generate this kind of content, you can read up about it in my blog post on AI tools for authors. The next step is to convert this text into audio.
One important thing to keep in mind once you’ve generated the content from an AI tool is to use an AI detector to check how authentic your work is. It’s vital to make changes to the text it generates to make it sound more human and to give it your own voice. Remember AI is just a tool to give you ideas. The real writing comes from how you polish it up afterwards.

Write your own book in 24 hours? Sounds impossible? Or like clickbait? It actually isn't! It's really possible, and I am going to show you how.

I've helped 10 other authors publish their books and become Amazon bestsellers, in addition to writing more than three best-selling books of my own.
This is for you if you are a writer and you want to have a book written in 2023. But I have a confession to make. Do you know it used to take me 10 days to plan a book? I used to make everyone who coached with me take 10 full days to write a book plan. Then I wondered why it was so hard to get them motivated again. However, enter the game-changing artificial intelligence and ChatGPT. Now I find that we can do 20% of the work of the book now in a very short time. If you're prepared to sit down and listen to me and use ChatGPT and do the work, you are going to have your book done.

To begin with, 80% of the work will be completed within 20% of the time using AI. So cancel those 10 days for planning. We can plan the entire book in a single day using ChatGPT tools, which I’ve discovered, take away all the fuss, bother and boring things to do with writing a book.

Additionally, if you have got writer’s block or want to write a book but you’re scared of all the work around it. Further, if you have ever written a book and then panicked at the amount of promotion and marketing you have to do, relax. Because now, all those boring jobs can be done by chat GPT. Leaving you and me free to write the purple prose we want to write. Write the good stuff with the perfect words our readers want to hear from us, not from an AI robot. But all those boring tasks? Let’s leave it to AI.

But first, we start with a plan. But if the thought of a plan makes you want to run away and hide or if all the promotional and marketing effort makes you want to run away and hide, don’t worry. It’s exactly the same thing. But now we have tools to help us. We have a writing assistant who can help us. We have our artificial intelligence to help us.
And stay tuned because I’m running an experiment now and I want to see whether I can give you the tools to do this in 24 hours. The full plan for your book, the outline, the targets, the promotion, the marketing material, everything so that not days, but at the end of the 24 hours, you will be ready with your book plan and first draft all on the path to writing a bestseller. Because remember, if you write a book without a plan, you are planning to fail. You must get that plan done.
Unfortunately, getting the plan done can be a major pain in the posterior.

I’ve been doing experiments with AI for a while now. I’ve done numerous meetups and sessions online about how AI can be a useful tool for writers. If you’re interested in learning more about ChatGPT, Canva, OpenAI, Quillbot and more join me in my other sessions. I am picking up on this discussion to talk about something really useful for you as an author.

If you’ve been with me on one of my coaching sessions you’ll know exactly how to publish and go bestseller on Amazon. What you might not know is how you can use an AI tool from Amazon to set up audio for your book.

It’s pretty magical to go from here to audio that can stream to someone who has never been to the Himalayas, or who has thought that their dreams were lost forever.

AI is not something that replaces the writing, it is really an enabler – we need to harness how to use it well.

How To Use AI to Create an Audiobook

It is the first step in my six steps to relaunch a book.

Because this is an experiment where I’m using AI voices from Amazon.

More specifically, Amazon Polly. Polly is a cloud service that converts text into lifelike speech. As an author, it’s quick and easy for you to convert the text for your book into audio.

Amazon Polly also supports multiple languages and uses a variety of realistic voices that can be adjusted to suit your audience.

This is the quickest, and cheapest way to convert an existing book to an audio format. Fiction and business books do really well as audiobooks, travel books not so well – after all, if you are travelling wouldn’t you like to see the information?

Before you start you need your book content available to cut and paste – Generate the latest version of the book as an .rtf file. I would have preferred a text file, but that isn’t possible from the application I use to format my books.

Select Amazon Polly the AI audio application from Amazon.
Select the voice you prefer, in a variety of languages – in English alone there are US, British, Australian and Indian. I recorded all four and asked my launch team which one they preferred.

Start recording by cutting and pasting into the Text to Speech box.
Click Listen to listen back to uptown 3000 characters. Test this a few times.
Use SSML switch to add some codes to indicate which words are Spanish, for example, or to add a longer break between sentences. Download to the S3 tier. If there are errors, fix them.

Download from S3 to your drive.
You can listen to it here, and maybe repeat from step 2 if you aren’t happy.
Rename the file to a sensible name.

Create your blog post/social media post, and link to the file on S3 or platform, such as Adilo.

Set up a podcast, or streaming service, such as Anchor, or soundcloud. Or create a page with the files as a bonus for your readers.

Your audio is now live! You have your book in audio content.

These books are in search of any author - is it you? This year, I'm finishing two books, my latest hiking book about my Camino, and my historical fiction book. That came about because I love historical fiction, but there was no, or very little historical fiction about lands and eras I cared about, that I could easily see myself in. Even though fiction is the suspension of disbelief, sometimes I would have liked to be able to see myself in a book - really a stretch of the imagination to see myself in a Regency romance, or one of my favourites like Outlander, and The Last Kingdom. I could more easily see myself in a Jack reacher book, than in Ivanhoe. So I did what every self-respecting author should do, I set out to write one myself - and. It was hard. Writing fiction is really really hard. No, Writing good fiction is difficult, and I am still working on my third draft.

Happy Valentine’s Day Books!

These books are in search of any author – is it you?

This year, I’m finishing two books, my latest hiking book about my Camino, and my historical fiction book. That came about because I love historical fiction, but there was no, or very little historical fiction about lands and eras I cared about, that I could easily see myself in. Even though fiction is the suspension of disbelief, sometimes I would have liked to be able to see myself in a book – really a stretch of imagination to see myself in a Regency romance, or one of my favourites like Outlander, and The Last Kingdom. I could more easily see myself in a Jack reacher book, than in Ivanhoe.

So I did what every self-respecting author shoud do, I set out to write one myself – and. it was hard. Writing fiction is really really hard. No, Writing good fiction is difficult, and I am still working on my third draft. And dreading the editor’s comments. But more on that later. For a bit of fun, I have compiled a list of books that you can write for Valentine’s Day 2024 – there are too many for me to write!

Writer’s Block begone

I also help other author’s get their books written, and one of the things they tell me is that they don’t know what to write. So here you go, a list of over 50 books you can write, all them romance or historical romance, Why romance? Because it is the biggest selling genre of them all! If they sound familiar, don’t worry, they are familiar because they all follow tropes. A trope is a common story in a genre, that readers love.

1. The Governess Secret – An enigmatic lord of the manor falls in love with a governess with a secret background, but their relationship is hampered by her past and his family’s disdain.
2. The Highlander’s Bride – A Scottish warrior and a feisty Englishwoman are coerced into a marriage of convenience, but as they encounter danger and intrigue in the Highlands, their desire for one another deepens.
3. The Regency Courtesan: A charming aristocrat and a stunning courtesan in Regency-era London fall in love, but their relationship is jeopardized by social mores and the opinions of their peers.
4. The Pirate’s Captive – A pirate captain falls in love with a prisoner but will their relationship be cut short by cruel circumstances?

Transcipt Summary

You fulfil it by taking the first step – by walking!

Chasing Himalayan Dreams takes you off to a part of the Himalayas that you might not be familiar with, a ridge overseeing a mountain called Kanchenjunga.
It had been a dream of mine for 40 years to complete this trek going back to my childhood growing up in military bases across north India and the first year of university I spent in Darjeeling. Thats where I fell in love with mountains.

Darjeeling, it’s in that little part of northeast India. It’s not really eastern India yet, but where India meets Nepal and Tibet. So literally, when you walk along this trail, which I did, you’re walking on the border of India and Tibet. When you reach Sandakphu, you can see in the distance Everest, Nepal, and look into the plateaus of Tibet.

The Himalayas sweep down from the west of India, starting in Afghanistan, and come down in this amazing arc over the north of India. They finally peter out over the top of Burma and into the western part of China. So literally, when you’re standing there, you can see four countries.

While it sounds beautiful, it’s also a trip that requires planning. It’s not the kind of thing you can be spontaneous about because you need a local guide. On that note, what are the logistics of the trip? How do you organise it? What’s it like, and what do you see?

Where is Kanchenjunga and Sandakphu. What are these places?

Firstly, Sandakphu is just a point on the Singalila Ridge. So the Singalila Ridge is a ridge, and the path is on top of it. To the left is Nepal, and to the right is India, right? As you walk along this, you crisscross between the two countries. It’s not guarded by fierce warriors holding guns; I mean, there is heavy protection, but it’s for the wildlife and the plants. It’s protected because there are plants over there so valuable that they don’t want anyone to stamp on them, and kill them because they may go extinct as they take 40 years to grow.

But when you’re walking along, you really don’t feel any of that stress that you’re actually on the border of two countries. You crisscross between the two countries. For instance, you might spend one night in Nepal and the next in India.

It shows you how artificial borders are because people on both sides look exactly the same, eating the same food.

Further, along the Singalila Ridge, at 4000 metres, you come to this point called Sandakphu. At this point, you can see this range of mountains called the Sleeping Buddha. It looks like that. Especially when there is snowfall, it was always full of snow the whole year. It’s like this white figure of a recumbent man sleeping across the mountains called the Sleeping Buddha. They’re all the different mountains, and of course, the highest point being the Buddha’s tummy is Kanchenjunga.

Kanchenjunga has been a sacred mountain for the indigenous people of that area from pre-Buddhist times, and even now, people are not encouraged to climb it ever. However, that’s not the only reason. People are not encouraged to climb it because it is very treacherous. And from that point, it’s beautiful because they seem to float because of the snow cover over the earth.

So at that point, when you stand at Sandakphu, and even a little before it, you can see the Sleeping Buddha. And way over to the west, you can actually see Everest.

What were the logistics of this trip to see Kanchenjunga?

It was a loop and took three days to go up and two days to come down.
I think it was about just under 70 kilometres walk over five days. It doesn’t seem much, but when you get up to 3000 metres, Darjeeling is at about just under 2000 metres, so it’s reasonable. However, when you climb up there, you start getting altitude sickness from 2500 metres, which may be about 8000ft. The local guide who we had, said, look, the way the mountain people do it is they don’t stride and stomp, but take small steps slowly, literally almost a shuffle. Take small steps slowly, and you will reach there. However, we tended to walk fast and slow down. So that was a lot of the trick of it. And that being said, the mountain people seemed to be walking at super speed, but they were used to it.

Furthermore, we are averaging 10-12 kilometres a day. Everything was vertically uphill, except, of course, when we were coming downhill. But it was quite a stiff climb.

We left Darjeeling, and we started from a place called Dothrey. From Dothrey, we went up, to Tonglu, or Tumling, from where you get your first views of Kanchenjunga. So you have these two twin villages. Tonglu is in India, and Tumbling is in Nepal. That’s your first-night halt. From there, you keep walking and come to a place called Kayakata. Until you reach that ridge you think this is not very difficult, it’s lovely, undulating countryside. And then, of course, you come to this place called Kayakata, it is switchback after switchback, and you start to ascend really fast. Then you get to the top of the ridge and feel it’s not too bad. But of course, by that time, you’re so high up that you are struggling.

Side note to keep in mind while trekking at high altitudes like the Kanchenjunga

So you need to be aware of all these things. And I find a lot of people take altitude sickness very casually. They think that, oh, I’m tough, I can do it, I’m fit, I’m young, I can do it, it’s got nothing to do with anything. Altitude sickness is just about oxygen and can hit anyone, anytime. Similarly, I did struggle a lot with the altitude, because I thought I was 16. Yes, that was the problem. We got to Sandakphu on the third day. And I know the guide was saying, today is only eight kilometres.

Yeah, but those eight kilometres were nearly vertical!

How was this trip to Kanchenjunga organised?

I looked at it and thought booking all these places would be difficult because it was winter, and not everything could be open. So I was a bit worried about that. Then a friend of mine suggested a tour operator we had used before. We still had to walk, but we had a good time. We could talk to the guides, and they would explain stuff to us. Even ask us what we’d like to eat? What’s interesting is the worst thing about altitudes are you lose your appetite. I lost mine. The guides would ask, what do you want to make? We’ll cook anything for you, but I was not hungry.
I didn’t realise the first time we went on the Himalayan trek, I was a little uncomfortable for a couple of nights. My main discomfort was that I couldn’t sleep at altitudes. It was altitude sickness.

I thought, since I’ll be so tired from all that walking, I’ll be able to sleep, and even if I can’t, it’s okay. But because this trek was all at high altitudes, I was tired and uncomfortable, and it was quite difficult. While I didn’t take Diamox on this trek, never again, I said

My top tips for someone who’s never been to see Kanchenjunga?

Firstly, I would definitely say read my book, read anything else. Secondly, try and definitely travel with a tour operator. Thirdly, remember that the local government of Darjeeling, the district of Darjeeling and Sandakphu, is in the northern part of West Bengal. They have slightly different rules than the rest of West Bengal. The language spoken there is not Bengali but Nepali, and the people there have an autonomous region. So you cannot go to Sandakphu unless you hire a local guide. So you have to have a local guide.

And this is one of the reasons, of course, for tourism. Support the economy and also it’s to ensure that people don’t get lost and wander off into Nepal or Tibet. In addition, it’s important to remember not to pluck the plants and damage them. That area also has the Red Panda supported by the Red Panda breeding programme. It’s one of the few areas successfully breeding such a rare animal.

Finally, my tip would be to make your base in Darjeeling. Darjeeling has been on the Western tourist trail for many years, so it is well set up. You can find tour guides there, or everyone is online now. Choose a guide who will use the local facilities and give yourself enough time.

Don’t try and rush up. Sometimes people will say you can do it in two days if you drive up. That’s not the point. Definitely give yourself time. Don’t believe that there’s no such thing as altitude sickness. So give yourself time to enjoy it because there are many things to savour. The other thing you could do is to try and avoid the festival season, which is the Divali or Durga Puja season in Bengal because you’ll have quite a few crowds then because people come up from Calcutta. It’s best to try and avoid that time. That is why December is a good time, because otherwise October, or November, if you get caught in the Puja rush, and you could get a lot of crowds over there, there’ll be more rush in the tea houses.

I speak more about my experience in Kanchenjunga in my book and a recent podcast with Holly Worton. You can give it a listen to learn more.

My New Book – Camino Invierno

On to the next adventure

I am currently working on another book, a different type of Camino. It’s called the Camino Invierno, which means the winter Camino.

It’s what mediaeval pilgrims would do if they couldn’t stop in Ponferrada and spend a month or two there waiting for the terrible snows to get over, and they would loop down. So the path loops down south from the Camino Frances, skirts the mountains and then goes to Santiago. So that being said, it’s still mountainous. The book will be out in April for those interested in another adventure.

However, I’ve been having great fun playing with artificial intelligence and similar resources for nearly a year now.

I’ve mainly been using it for art because I am a writer, not an artist. In my experience, I’ve been having a great time with it as an artist of words. When you can write good words- you can make great art. Now, this art can be used for many different things. I know there is a lot of controversy over its use. But there’s one thing we’re forgetting, we all use artificial intelligence all the time; when we make a google search, look for audible content, even scroll through social media, you name it. Sometimes, you don’t even know that you’re using artificial intelligence. So why don’t we use these? It’s just an app, and it’s not going to do you any harm.

An AI Story Writer Experiment

What’s more, earlier this month, we had a session on AI for Authors. It was an experiment using artificial intelligence for authors, covering all the kinds of things it can be used for. You can view a clip of that below.

In the first place, one of the things I did during this session was to use it for content. I generated content for a non-fiction & fiction book and some art from artificially produced words. Now, obviously, I have no idea how you are going to use AI, but this is what I’m doing with it – trying to increase my productivity. It’s just like how, once upon a time, we used to handwrite books, right? Now we use a computer. Before that, we used typewriters. Does that mean we’ve lost our artistic licence and given up to the machines? No, the fact is you cannot win against machines. So this is not a fight against the machines but a race with the machines.

A Simple AI Story Writer You Already Signed Up For

Even though I have used a lot of artificial intelligence apps, I’m signed up for quite a few of them, but I’m just going to talk about one, and you’ll be surprised which it is. It’s just Canva.

Likewise everyone is talking about different AI story writers, and we have Canva, our old favourite. Obviously, canva is trying to be everything to everyone, and it’s got art and documentation. Now you can generate your words out of Canva. As promised, this isn’t a marketers pitch. I’m not trying to sell you anything because I’m not an expert. But certainly, if you want to write a book, come and talk to me. But for artificial intelligence, we’re just having fun here.

Getting Started With Your AI Story Writer

Firstly, if you log into Canva, you’ll notice you can open a Design Visual doc. It starts off with some deep and meaningful quotes. What you need to do next is to click on your cursor and choose the function – Add magic. So if you double-click on magic, it becomes the prompt to get some content.

Secondly, you can follow this guide based on our session to begin using this tool yourself. We started with ten plots for a children’s book on cute monsters and some of the plotlines we found were –

How to Get More From This AI Tool

Tip. You can use up to 200 words in your prompt. Not bad. However, if you look closely, it’s just suggested a random plot. It didn’t take the one we chose and was very generic. We made the request more specific, and voila, an entire plot line sat right there on Canva.
You can continue to ask the AI story writer to build on the plot by asking for more details and being more specific about the content you want.

Equally, we could have actually finished the story right then and done the whole thing. An author did just that, he wrote, published and illustrated a children’s book in 24 hours and put it up on Amazon. At first, it was popular, but he got a lot of backlash about it later.

Besides, you’re always going to get backlash from people who don’t understand. Even I got a bit of backlash when I put this up on a group somewhere. I put it on my page and invited people to come in while I did AI experiments. And someone said, oh, my God, I can’t believe we are so lazy now to do the writing. Another response said- what’s writing coming to if an AI story writer is going to do it? All I’m thinking is, hold on, are we going to go back to 16th-century Elizabeth in England and chastise Shakespeare for copying all his plots and stories? There’s nothing new under the sun. We’re just trying to use technology. So you’re going to get a few trolls about it. But, I’m still happy to write because, as we know, I think we’re a bit smarter than the AI, but it can give you this bulk of stuff to work with.

Generating More Content From The AI Story Writer

Thirdly, in the outline above, it’s obvious the AI story writer has used the classic three-act or the five-step, which we have in every story quest; there is a good side, then there’s a danger, while the hero has to fight against it. This would have been enough for a children’s book, but it needed more emotion. Because so far, we only got a description without anything to grip us. Yes, there was evil, and the main character conquered it – end of the story.

But that’s not what a good story is. It has to have some emotion. We entered more prompts to get some emotional content, and this was what we ended up with –

We had to continue to work this into the story. But still, that’s a pretty good start.

What I hadn’t figured out from this was; how should we talk more about the brave monster ready to defend the kingdom? We wrote to the AI story writer to describe the physical look of the brave monster.

So you can see, it’s doing much of the heavy lifting. We’ve already got 1000 words in the story, and you can take it where you want.

Do you know what it’s really doing? It’s taking the loneliness out of writing. Very often, writing is a very lonely job.

Canvas AI story writer can generate artwork for your fiction book!

Finally, you can use AI to generate art. So for this part, we used the Canva app’s text-to-image function. All you have to do is describe the image you want to see. You can choose between the different style options it has, like, a pattern, painting, or drawing. For inspiration, it gives you what kind of prompts you can feed in to get your artwork.

At first, we got very general patterns and had to start narrowing them down by making more specific descriptions. Sometimes with AI, it helps give it exactly what you want. Or else you do nothing and type your search ‘a monster’, and the AI story writer does what it likes. So that’s the way to use AI.

Secondly, we then followed the same format and AI to build a non-fiction piece on mental health problems or the emergence of new mental health issues.
For this non-fiction book, we were being specific by giving it an outline. It then just gave us steps like an opening strategy, which was quite different from the fiction piece.

Another factor we also experimented with because why not?
Specifically, would it be possible for us to even bring in relevant references through an AI story writer?

Thirdly, we began with this prompt – tell me more about expert references to the causes of mental health problems.
At this point, it was thinking, and we had to change it to leave out some words because the AI couldn’t make any medical recommendations.

What we could then do was take one and break each of these up into more detail. And literally, you can write your whole non-fiction book here. I wouldn’t be publishing this on Amazon, but if you wanted to write a lead magnet, this would also help you.

Using Canvas AI to Generate Images For A Non-Fiction Book

Here’s where it got more interesting as we sought to create images using Canvas AI. We tried for photos of mental health patients. It started to get into a series of errors that prevented it from giving any health-related images.
So we tried a social setting of a group of people. The image results had some weird distorted faces.

We then looked for a diagrammatic image of a brain inside a head. In many mental health books, you get that kind of image of a brain.

Further, we also tried to look for an infographic about a worldwide pandemic to see what it would come up with. Although it did generate an image, the content on the infographic was incoherent and vague.

Additionally, we found out that the more searches you try, it won’t allow you to search for a boy, girl or child. You have to say, a young person or an abstract image of a nurse.

This was just a start and an introduction to how to use an AI story writer to improve your productivity as an author. It works for fiction and non-fiction content with varying results because the non-fiction had some restrictions related to the topic we chose. However, it is probably worthwhile investigating how the AI story writer generates content for other non-fiction topics.

If we had chosen to write a non-fiction book about cycling or bicycle races, we would probably have gotten some good pictures. I hope my experience has made you more open to using an AI story writer as a tool to write.

Recently a favourite Camino author, Joanna Penn, shared a blog on how she chose her cover for her book. It was excellent, and very much in sync of how I believe we should research book covers that attract the right readers, and, how sometimes, you should follow your intuition too. I was also pleased to note that my Camino book, The Camino Ingles, is now in the canon of book covers that she showcased.

This set me off on another path, of researching which exact colours are the most popular, for the books that sell the best. I learnt some interesting facts, like, there are 957 books on the Camino on Amazon. And some that I knew instinctively, blue and yellow are the most common colours, all my books, including my non Camino books use some version of that scheme!

The colours most commonly used on the covers of books about the Camino de Santiago typically depict the natural landscape of the Camino, like hills, forests, rivers, roman bridges and the sky. Primarily, the colors yellow and blue are strongly associated with the Camino de Santiago, the markers along the way, and the traditional scallop shell.

White and black are also used to represent the spiritual aspect of the journey, resulting in a simple, minimalist design for some books.

Some book covers feature photographs of the way, as well as architectural and cultural elements of the Camino, such as the cathedrals, chapels, and monasteries along the route. So why are blue and yellow the most popular colours for Camino book covers? Colours evoke different emotions, and are powerful connectors. We are creators of emotion, and we connect, and buy books depending on the emotional connection we feel.

Yes, we all judge a book by its cover – why is that?

The cost of a book is not measured in money, but in the time that we will take to read it. You can get more money, but you can never get back the time you used to read a book.

Blue

Blue is linked to feelings of hope, calm, positivity and serenity, and tranquility. It is also associated with trust, loyalty, and wisdom. Dark shades of blue can evoke feelings of sadness, – feeling “blue” for instance. Yellow evokes feelings of warmth, happiness, cheerfulness, and optimism. Some darker shades evoke cowardice, caution and warning. it’s all in the shades as well. Navy blue can evoke trustworthiness and wisdom, but some yellows can be alarming.

Yellow

In Camino lore, we all know the saying, follow the yellow arrow, it can be comforting when you are deep in a forest and think you are lost. The blue shell and yellow arrow on Camino markers, inspire feelings of trust and ancient wisdom of pilgrims who have gone before us.

Here is a visual of the typical colours of the Camino. Why the crochet? Yes, I did these images with artificial intelligence art, because I’m not a good artist!

It’s always good to have a new year. In Chinese tradition, the years cycle through a wheel of animals that set the tone for the year, and depending on when you were born, you have a year dedicated to you every twelve or so years. This is your year if you were born in 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, and 2023. You have good fortune, patience, and prosperity in 2023, according to a Chinese horoscope.

However, it is up to you – as my son retorted when asked what animal he was

he said proudly – Human!

One would think I knew that – I am his mother after all..duhhhhh. So there are no two-legged rabbits in our family.

If you missed setting good intentions for 2023, hop to it how in the year of the bunny, and make huge leaps in whatever your chosen brand of awesome is!

If it’s writing a book, be sure to hop onto that bandwagon with me. The first step is to follow me as I write my first book for 2023, about the Winter Camino I walked in November/December.

We did see a couple of wild rabbits once on the Camino, as well, as a pair of deer. But there were more cows and pigs in evidence, as well as the occasional loose dogs that frightened us.

In the meanwhile here are some books about rabbits, well there’s the old Hare and the Tortoise one, but don’t go to sleep on that.

In addition to Peter Rabbit and the Velveteen Rabbit, my favourite book about rabbits is Watership Down by Richard Adams. It looks like a children’s book, though it’s really a more adult book with themes that resonate today. So read it before you give it to your child to read.

I continue to experiment with AI, sharing some covers that the app created for Watership Down.

And if you have read it, here’s a nice colouring book.

It looks like a children’s book, though it’s really a more adult book with themes that resonate today.

Ok, now back to my book, enough procrastinating Susan (yeah I talk to myself, but you can help by replying and telling me the same!!!
